# 37.0.0_p1-r2 x86_64 {android-tools} (Apache-2.0 AND GPL-3.0-or-later) [installed]androidDragon is the Android development capability on Saphira: ADB, fastboot and the platform-tools installed as an ordinary package, with Gradle and the JDK completing the toolchain on a workstation you control. It is where you assemble Android applications. It is not an Android device and does not run the apps it builds.
GoodBuilding an Android app on Saphira is not the same as running an Android app on Saphira. The site states which is which, and does not imply support it has not tested.
What androidDragon is for
- Hold the Android SDK command-line tools and Gradle on one controlled machine.
- Build and sign APKs and Android App Bundles for phones and tablets.
- Drive and inspect devices with ADB over a real, intended connection.
- Let an agent help with builds locally, with access you grant.
GoodThe tools are published in the hatched stream and install with apk today, including ADB for driving attached devices. The packages page lists the full set.
